A Letter Concering the processing of amalgam waste

 Dear Lebow Metals Customers,

November , 2004

Because of recent changes in amalgam processing regulations, we would like provide you with information that should assist you in completing any necessary paperwork concerning the disposal of your amalgam waste.  When we purchase your non-contact amalgam scrap, it  is placed in a secure plastic bag. The material is weighed and payment is made at that time. Any wet amalgam will collectively be dried through an evaporation process. No heating or appliances are used to dry the amalgam. The dry amalgam is placed in a gallon size plastic container where it is securely sealed. When the container is filled it is sent to Mercury Refining located in
Albany, New York for processing.

Their EPA identification number is NYD048148175.
